The Hawk started out as a scaled down version of Ted Moore's design the Red Bird, for my own use as a fast solo canoe. (Fast, but tender) Other canoeist's liked it, so I took the hint and designed a more user friendly model. The Hawk now features a flattened shallow arch bottom with a filled midsection. The long fine entry, makes it a fast responsive canoe. Sides with a moderate tumblehome for strength and ease of paddling.
